Do you want to help shape and develop the outdoor environments of the future? Södertälje Municipality is looking for an engaged and curious landscape engineer with broad knowledge in construction and management.

The position is a permanent employment with immediate start.

The position is located in the Parks and Landscape unit at the Community Building Office, where about 14 employees work with planning, design and project management, implementation, ecosystem services, cultivation coordination, and more. Currently, there are two experienced landscape engineers in the Parks and Landscape unit, and we are now looking to expand the team with one more colleague.

Your responsibilities

As a landscape engineer, you will be responsible for the management and development of the municipality's parks, green areas, natural land, and technical facilities in the urban environment. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the operations unit and colleagues in Parks and Landscape, where you play a key role in ensuring that our environments develop sustainably and with high quality.

You will act as a contact person for contractors and be responsible for following up on reported issues. The role also includes planning and implementing both new construction and renovation of parks, squares, green areas, and other public environments.

The role requires close cooperation with other professional groups within the unit and the municipality's administrations to create holistic solutions that promote urban life, ecological values, and social sustainability.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with experience in construction, management, and/or maintenance of outdoor environments. We believe you have a degree as a landscape engineer or equivalent and would prefer that you have a practical background in construction and management – where experience creates security regarding problem-solving, prioritization, and assessments on-site. You are used to taking responsibility for your tasks and have the ability to plan and prioritize. You enjoy solving concrete issues in everyday life, but you are also structured, communicative, and clear in collaborations.

Requirements:
- Degree in landscape engineering or equivalent education, or that you have acquired equivalent knowledge through relevant work experience.
- Approximately 5 years of relevant work experience.
- A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Meritorious:
- Experience in the development and management of public outdoor environments.
- Previous work within municipal administration.
- Experience in contracts, construction, and project management.
- Project management experience within public environments.
- Experience in new construction, renovation, operation, and maintenance of parks and green areas.

Personal qualities:
- You are proactive, get things done, and take responsibility for driving the work forward with high quality.
- You have a genuine commitment, are curious, and have a desire to learn and develop.
- You are self-sufficient but also enjoy collaboration and create clear and constructive dialogue with different roles and interests.
